negligence7If you have suffered from an illness or injury that happened as a result of clinical negligence then it is possible that you may be entitled to make a claim for personal injury compensation in the form of a medical negligence claim.

In order for your personal injury compensation claim to be successful you have to prove beyond doubt that a healthcare professional has caused you to suffer from an injury or illness due to negligence. As far as medical negligence is concerned, this means that a healthcare professional has failed to provide the level of care that a patient can reasonably expect them to provide. Levels of care expected is determined to be the same regardless of whether you have been treated at a public or private practice.

Every person will receive some sort of medical care in their lifetime. In the vast majority of cases, this care is carried out to a very high standard. Inevitably however, mistakes will happen from time to time. If these mistakes result in injury or illness to a patient then there are grounds for am compensation claim.

There are many reasons why there may be grounds for a compensation claim. Wrong prescriptions being given, illnesses misdiagnosed, errors during operations and injuries suffered during childbirth are all grounds for pursuing a compensation claim.
